PCB Design Services
Save time and reduce errors with professional PCB design services. Our experienced designers create optimised layouts that work reliably from prototype through production.
That Turn Your Ideas Into Reality
Getting your PCB design right from the start saves you time, money, and a great deal of frustration further down the line. At Intercole, you get more than just a draughting service. You get experienced engineers who understand how boards are manufactured, and who design with that in mind from the very first schematic.
We design and manufacture under one roof, which means the layout going into production is exactly the one that was designed and tested. No handoffs, no misunderstandings, and no costly revisions caused by a disconnect between designer and manufacturer.
Our PCB Design Capabilities
PCB Layout Design
Translating a schematic into a working PCB layout requires a careful balance of electrical performance, signal integrity, and physical constraints. Our layout engineers work across single-sided, double-sided, and multilayer boards, including complex builds such as BGA devices and high-density interconnect designs.
Because we manufacture what we design, every layout is reviewed with production in mind. Component placement, track routing, and design-for-manufacture checks are all part of our standard process. You get a board that is optimised for performance and built to be manufactured efficiently, whether you are producing a prototype or scaling to volume.
Schematic Design
A solid schematic is the foundation of every successful PCB. If it contains errors or ambiguity, those problems carry through every stage of development. Our engineers work with you to produce a clear, accurate schematic that reflects your circuit requirements and is ready to move into layout without revision.
Where your project requires it, we can also carry out circuit analysis and recommend component selections that improve performance, reduce cost, or simplify manufacture.
Sensor Integration
Integrating sensors into a PCB design introduces challenges that go beyond standard layout work. Signal conditioning, noise management, power supply decoupling, and physical placement all have a significant impact on sensor accuracy and reliability in the finished product.
Our engineers have experience across a wide range of sensor types and application environments. Whether you are working with temperature, pressure, proximity, or motion sensing, we design the surrounding circuitry to support the sensor properly. If you are unsure of the best approach for your application, we are happy to talk it through before committing to a direction.

Frequently Asked Questions for our PCB Design Services
Do I need a completed schematic before you can start?
No. We are happy to work with you from an early concept stage. If you have a rough idea of what your circuit needs to do but have not committed anything to paper yet, we can help you develop that into a proper schematic before moving into layout. The earlier you involve us, the more opportunity there is to influence the design in a way that keeps manufacture straightforward and cost-effective.
What file formats do you work with?
We work with the most widely used formats including Gerber, ODB++, and native files from common EDA tools. If you are unsure whether your files are compatible, just send them across and we will confirm. We would rather sort that out at the start than have it slow things down later.
How long does PCB design typically take?
It depends on the complexity of the board. A straightforward two-layer design can move quickly, while a dense multilayer board with high-speed signals or tight physical constraints will naturally take longer. We will give you a realistic timescale at the outset so you can plan accordingly, and we will flag anything during the process that might affect that.
Can you move straight into manufacturing once the design is complete?
Yes, and this is one of the real advantages of working with us. Once your PCB design is signed off, our assembly and production teams can pick it up directly. There is no need to find a separate manufacturer, re-explain the design intent, or hope that nothing gets lost in translation. Our PCB assembly and SMT assembly services run from the same site, so your board moves into production without any disruption to the timeline.
Do you offer design for manufacture checks?
Yes, this is built into our standard process rather than offered as an add-on. Because our design engineers work alongside our production team, every layout is reviewed against real manufacturing constraints before it is finalised. This catches potential issues early, when they are straightforward to address, rather than after boards have already been built.
